About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Florida. I completed a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Mindfulness-based Transpersonal Counseling from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. I also completed a post-graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy at the Denver Family Institute.
Prior to changing careers, I worked for 20 years in the beauty industry, both in my family business as a stylist, leadership trainer, coach and mentor as well as in entrepreneurial pursuits as a small business owner. I completed my Master of Business Administration in 2008 from Babson College in Massachusetts.
My Approach
Therapy is an interactive process. My therapeutic orientation draws from a humanistic, strengths-based, transpersonal lens as well as evidence-based systems theory. I am working towards Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) certification and have a passion for integrating mindfulness as a pathway to greater awareness of self. I specifically tailor my approach to suit the unique needs of each client. As a sex positive, affirming therapist, I am committed to social justice and continue to educate myself on deeper impacts of systemic oppression and marginalization.
